The work of Healing Together

We’re proud to be supporting Healing Together, a community-led mental health programme now underway across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This week, our funding is directly supporting workshops on Bequia, helping community members access trauma-informed care in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

Delivered by The Hub Collective Inc., Healing Together is a local initiative to strengthen psychosocial support in Union Island, Mayreau, Canouan, and Bequia—communities affected by the hurricane in July 2024. While physical rebuilding continues, the programme addresses the less visible but lasting psychological impacts of displacement, loss, and post-disaster stress.

“The Healing Together pilot represented a powerful first step towards addressing some of the critical mental health needs of residents in the Grenadines post-Beryl,” says MindTHRIVE founder and mental health consultant for Healing Together, Kimmette Robertson. “This next phase will expand our reach, deepen support and strengthen pathways to create even more safe spaces that will encourage holistic healing for these communities.”

Programming includes Psychological First Aid training for community leaders, one-on-one therapy sessions, and somatic and nature-based workshops that integrate body-based practices, storytelling, and environmental connection. A national awareness campaign is also working to reduce stigma around mental health care as a core part of disaster recovery.
